Ticketed Concert Series

ClefWorks Opening Night, Thursday, August 2, 7:00 p.m.
ClefWorks opening night at the RSA Activity Center juxtaposes the styles of Schubert and Crumb. Arrive early, enjoy a cocktail and prepare to be treated to a truly inspired and riveting performance.

ClefWorks in Cloverdale, Friday, August 3, 6:00 p.m.
The evening begins at Huntingdon’s Ligon Chapel where the music of Liszt, Benjamin and Schubert will be coupled with dramatic Shakespearian readings by ASF actors. The music and fun continues with a block party serenade in Old Cloverdale open to the public. Student tickets (including college students) will be available for this concert at $5 per person.

ClefWorks Finale at the Museum, Saturday, August 4, 7:30 p.m.
The finale at the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts features original choreography performed by the Alabama Dance Theater as well as the winner of the ClefWorks 2007 Composition Competition. Original art inspired by the music will be displayed and auctioned as patrons enjoy a special dessert buffet.

Bonus Concerts Open to the Public

LaJolla Concert, Thursday, July 26, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
La Jolla at EastChase provides a comfortable setting as ClefWorks musicians perform individual compositions featured on the ClefWorks Anthology CD.

ClefWorks at the Ascension, Sunday, July 29, 6:00 p.m.
Join ClefWorks musicians at Church of the Ascension as they perform a sampling of music to be featured in the ticketed concert series.

Educational Opportunities

The following events are free and open to the public. Parents are encouraged to bring their children and experience how worldclass musicians prepare for a performance.

Masterclass, Monday, July 30, 10 a.m. to Noon
Huntingdon College
Students will perform rehearsed compositions and receive immediate feedback from ClefWorks musicians as the audience gains a greater appreciation for the many challenges of mastering both an instrument and its music.

Open Rehearsal, Wednesday, August 1, 10 a.m. until Noon
Huntingdon College
Featuring Franz Schubert’s “Death and the Maiden”.

Open Rehearsal, Friday, August 3, 10 a.m. until Noon
Huntingdon College
Featuring the Arsenal Trio as they perform Mike Barnett’s winning entry of the 2007 Composition Competition, Ask the Wind.

Special Children’s Concert, Saturday, August 4, 10:00 a.m.
Saint James Methodist Church
ClefWorks Children’s Concert will feature an interactive program designed specifically for elementary-age school children who will be encouraged to participate and create throughout the morning. Tickets for this concert are $5 per person and will be available at the Carmichael Road Sterling Bank location beginning July 2nd. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
