Deep Rivers set for Carnegie Hall Premiere
Last season Clefworks and the JK Lowder Family Foundation commissioned a new song cycle titled Deep Rivers. Written by Mohammed Fairouz, “one of the most talented composers of his generation” (BBC World News) and known for his musical diplomacy, the song cycle was performed by the GRAMMY-nominated Imani Winds and baritone soloist Sidney Outlaw in downtown Montgomery to a standing room only crowd.
On November 7, Deep Rivers will be premiered at Carnegie Hall by the Mimesis Ensemble and Mr. Outlaw. Earlier this summer the work was performed at the Bridgehampton Chamber Music Festival on Long Island.
ClefWorks is thrilled that its first commission is being so well received. We look forward to our coming Season, featuring a trio of Juilliard graduates called Sonic Escape, and invite you to join with us as we bring more exciting music to Montgomery.
